Therapy offers time to consider what is happening, understand familiar patterns and work towards changes that feel realistic and worthwhile.

01

Start with what brings you

You do not need a clear explanation or a fixed goal. We begin with your experience and take the work at a manageable pace.

02

An approach shaped around you

My integrative approach draws on humanistic, relational and depth perspectives. It is responsive to the individual rather than based on a formula.

03

Understanding and change

Recognising patterns and understanding how they developed can make different choices and ways of relating possible.

Adolescent counselling · Ages 12–17

A steady place for young people to be heard.

Adolescence can bring pressure, uncertainty and feelings that are difficult to put into words. Counselling offers a respectful space where a young person can explore what is happening at their own pace, without judgement.

01

Parent or guardian makes contact

The first enquiry is made by a parent or guardian so that the young person's needs and the practical arrangements can be considered carefully.

02

Initial parent consultation

The process begins with a consultation for the parent or guardian before individual counselling sessions are arranged.

03

Privacy with clear boundaries

The young person's privacy is respected. Confidentiality, safeguarding responsibilities and parent involvement are explained clearly at the outset.

The first meeting is a chance to talk about what has brought you to therapy, ask questions and get a sense of whether working together feels right. There is no pressure to arrive with a perfectly clear explanation.

There is no single timeframe. Some people come with a focused issue and work for a shorter period; others value a longer, more open-ended process. We can review what is useful as the work develops.

For young people aged 12–17, a parent or guardian makes the first contact. The process begins with a parent consultation before counselling sessions with the young person are arranged.
